Microsoft recently rolled out a server-side update with bugs fixes, improvements, and annoying bug that crashing Game Bar with error code 0x803F8001. What actually happening is, whenever users (who have received the server-side update) trying to open Game bar app, it crashes with error message that reads: The majority of users are reporting about this error code in Microsoft Answers, Twitter, and even on Reddit. It’s been more than 15 hours what causing the issue is still a mystery. Fortunately, Microsoft is aware of the issue and assured users that the issue will be fixed.
Xbox Game Bar app Crashing with error 0x803F8001
In case, you’re unable to open Game bar app on your Windows 10 PC due to 0X803F8001 error code, then here’s how you can temporarily fix the issue until Microsoft officially fixes it. First of all, you have to Uninstall Xbox Game Bar app from Windows 10 PC. For that, right-click on the start button and select Windows PowerShell (Admin). When UAC dialog box appear, click Yes to continue. In Windows Powershell, you need to copy-paste following command: and hit enter. Wait for command to done its magic. Doing this will uninstall the Xbox Game Bar from Windows 10. After that, reboot your computer and re-install Xbox Game Bar. Here’s how you can do that: Launch Microsoft Store app, search Xbox Game Bar.
