I came across the Twelve South BookBook vol. 2 iPhone 12 Pro Max case in my quest for the same. Here are my thoughts on this latest BookBook installment. Note – The BookBook vol. 2 case is available for iPhone 12, 12 Pro, and 12 Mini
Have It All Handy – BookBook vol. 2 for iPhone 12 Pro Max
Twelve South is no new name among Apple users. The brand has been introducing some of the most high-end accessories for years, but BookBook’s range of cases remains one of its famous product lines. With BookBook Vol. 2 case for iPhone 12 Pro Max, the brand takes the legacy a step ahead. Despite being spacious and classy, the hefty price tag may raise questions like whether to have it or not, is it worth the value? You never know the quality and experience until you have it in hand. I have tried to break down my observations to help you evaluate whether the protective luxury case is worth buying.
Exterior
This is where the first impression is built!
Classy Design
The exterior features vintage design aesthetics draped in 100% authentic leather stitched using matching thread. While the front is pretty simple, the rear section and the spine is where you will notice fine craftsmanship.
Precision Camera Cutout
Starting with the flip side, you’ll notice a camera-shaped precision cutout that affords sufficient space to capture photos or create a video. You’ll also notice a vertical partition that enables you to use your phone hands-free to watch videos or attend a zoom call.
Magnetic Closure
Holding the flaps together, you have tiny extensions housed with magnets to hold your cards, cash, and iPhone 12 Pro Max securely in one place.
Interior
This is where you’ll notice the amalgamation of quality and features.
Soft Micro-fiber Cloth
Being wrapped in soft micro-fiber cloth, the case gives sufficient padding to your iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Spacious
The leather wallet case offers you enough space to hold four cards and enough cash to keep you going. And to hold all of this with your iPhone 12 Pro Max securely, you have firm magnetic flaps, which don’t interfere and damage your cards.
Removable Shell
Probably the best part of the interior. You can easily remove it and use it as a separate case. It’s incredibly light-in-weight and has classy leather finishing. Also, the cutouts are soft, giving it a classy finish. It’s around the camera cutout where you’ll notice that the body is raised well to keep your camera secured, even when you are using the shell alone. Bonus – The double-knot stitching gives it a more robust appearance. Just like the exterior, alignment is well-maintained, giving it a neater appearance.
Durability
While the wallet provides six-way protection to your cards, cash, and device, the detachable shell, when used alone, is sturdy enough to protect your iPhone 12 when used alone. Also, the spine is strong enough to handle any direct impact without damaging what’s inside.
Is It Worth a Buy? Our Verdict
I liked the product and its built; however, I noticed the glue marks on the inside around the camera cutouts for the one that I received. But I’m sure this would be a rare find-out. Overall, this wallet case is worth every single penny and justifies the price tag commendably by giving you not just one but two standalone cases; One that houses your cash and cards and the other the lightweight companion. The one question that we have been asked time and again since the phone’s launch, “What is the best iPhone 12 Pro Max case?” Well, this is one of those cases that I would highly recommend. Lately, I have also been using the BookBook case for the iPad.
